[2 - The Story of Khale]

My only question is...

Why isn't this in the top 50.... music, animation and drawing quality, ideas... it should be in the top 10 at least. Some of those voice acting felt a little bit stale, but not enough to warrant giving less than a 10 :)

You can do better!

I think you are succumbing to the limits of using the pen tool, and sacraficing the quality of your animation. I'd recommend instead of doing a drawing and penning over it (which I assume is what you're doing, as it's what most do), rough out an entire scene using the brush tool with a light color. Make the animation fluid and correct, then draw the character on a new layer over the gray sketched out animation. Having a template underneath that you can change will make a better final product, and you can easily keep the same style, it just takes a bit more patient. Look up 'pencil test' on youtube or other art sites, and you can really get a feel for this 'rough' process, and I think in no time you'll be able to make stuff 20x better than this.

I totally agree with you! When I started making this a few years back I didn't learn until about halfway through that using the pen tool in flash was so suicidal! But yeah, as you could probabley tell, almost everything was tweened too! So the animation quality was super stiff. But my new animations are the oppisite technique since now I'm focusing more on animation then content and visuals. Thanks for the feedback though! Please tell me what you think of my new stuff once I finally get it done!

Voice-acting is the only thing holding it back.

The art and humor were amazing, but the voice acting and bad sound quality of the voices were kind of bothersome. I think it's worth it to invest in a good mic (if that's what the issue is), as I think it would push this to the 10 it should be. Again, the art was impeccable.

Influential, to say the least

I've been a fan since The Chase, and these movies have always been a really nice inspiration to me. The storytelling is always fun, and you always go in different directions. This has a weird clash of loopiness, action, and scale that is executed very well. Your timing is spot on, especially with the 8-ball sequence and the clown scene. The subtle 'camera-work' always adds to it as well. Only wish you did more! (and the song fuckin rocks).
